Sunset has many programs
to offer for all levels and interests of skaters:
For those interested in general learn-to-skate lessons, before deciding if figure skating, hockey,
ringette, speed skating or recreational skating is right for your skater, we offer
CANSKATE
If skaters coming out of the Canskate program want to focus on hockey-oriented skills,
they can advance into
POWERSKATING
A program designed or skaters already playing or interested in minor hockey.
Drills focus on tight turns, strong backwards skating and power.
Once skaters have completed the Canskate program, and have decided that figure skating
is the way to go, they get auditioned for
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT
Once a skater has shown the persistence, dedication and hard work to continue out of Junior Development,
one of our Club Coaches (see contacts page) will invite them for private or semi-private lessons in
STARSKATE/COMPETITIVE
For the Competitive or Starskate skater that wants to excel, off-ice training is a must.
Sunset offers a number of different off-ice classes to develop strength,
flexibility and awareness of body position.
